COLT SAA 1ST GENERATION BISLEY IN .38 WCF & 4 3/4 INCH BARREL. 121 YEAR OLD PIECE OF AMERICAN HISTORY!!
A desirable, 121 YEAR OLD Colt 1ST Generation SAA Bisley in .38WCF caliber and with a 4 ¾ inch barrel . Manufactured in 1902. The top of the barrel has the one line Hartford address with "(BISLEY MODEL) 38 W.C.F." on the left side and the two line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and back strap with the assembly number "482" on the loading gate. Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer, blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. Colt manufactured approximately 44,350 Bisley revolvers from 1894 to 1915. This Bisley is in Fine condition, with approximately 60% original blue finish and a gray patina on the balance of the metal surfaces, showing some light spotting and pin-prick type pitting. The frame has traces of case colors with the balance being mostly a mottled silver gray patina with some fine pitting on the recoil shield and loading gate. The grips are very good with some lower edge wear, minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. SN 229830
