WALTHER P-38 IN 9MM LUGER WITH EXPERIMENTAL CHROME FINISH!! RARE AND HIGHLY DESIRABLE!! (GRP 1 OF 2)
[PHOTO GROUP 1 OF 2] This is a WWII P38 9MM Luger ac44 series manufactured with an experimental chrome finish. We have never seen another Walther P38 with this experimental finish. There are "Eagle/359" proofs present with the left side of the slide having the one line "ac44" marking. The pistol features a 5 inch, blue finished barrel and blue finished small parts. The slide and frame are chrome plated in the dull satine tone. The slide and frame have the matching “g” block serial number. The barrel lug is unnumbered. The magazine is marked "P.38v/U" on one side, and stamped with an "Eagle/WaA135" proof on the spine and on side. The fitted grips are the WWII standard ribbed grips. This rare Walther is excellent in all respects. The barrel and small parts retain 95% original blue finish showing some minor thinning. There are a few minor handling marks on the frame and slide, which retain 98% of the chromed finish. Mechanically, this wonderful Walther is excellent.. A wonderful example of a WWII era Walther P38 in nearly new condition and with a rare experimental finish......what's not to like ?
